The Grandstream GXW4248 High-Density FXS Gateway is purpose-built to connect legacy analog telephone infrastructure — including analog phones, fax machines, and PBX systems — with modern VoIP networks, providing a seamless, cost-effective hybrid solution. It enables businesses to leverage the benefits of VoIP communications while protecting their investment in existing analog devices.
Grandstream GXW4248 is equipped with 48 FXS ports and dual 50-pin Telco connectors, the GXW4248 simplifies large-scale telephony deployments by offering easy integration with analog equipment racks. The Gigabit auto-sensing RJ45 network port ensures high-speed, reliable connectivity to modern IP infrastructures.
Grandstream GXW4248 has a backlit 128×32 graphic LCD display with multi-language support and clear LED status indicators for each port allow for easy management and real-time monitoring of device and call status. The GXW4248 supports 4 SIP server profiles per system with independent SIP accounts for each of the 48 ports, offering ultimate flexibility for multi-tenant, multi-department, or multi-location configurations.
For exceptional audio quality, the Grandstream GXW4248 supports wideband voice codecs like Opus and G.722, alongside standard codecs including G.711, G.723.1, G.726, G.729 A/B, and iLBC. Carrier-grade echo cancellation (G.168), dynamic jitter buffering, and automatic fallback to G.711 ensure crystal-clear communications in any environment. Each port supports 3-way voice conferencing, making the GXW4248 ideal for busy office and contact center environments.
Security is a top priority, with SRTP encryption, TLS/SIPS signaling, HTTPS secure provisioning, AES-128 encryption, and random default admin passwords for each device. The GXW4248 also supports dual firmware images for reliable, non-disruptive updates and provisioning.
Provisioning options include TR-069, HTTPS, TFTP, FTP/FTPS, and XML configuration files, while management interfaces include web-based admin, HTTPS, SSH, Syslog, and local voice prompts. The device also offers failover SIP server auto-switching to ensure uninterrupted call service in the event of a primary server failure.
